We came across this today - a school at a similar stage to us working with iPod Touches.
This iPod Touch project is being managed by Oldham CLC. We are attempting to integrate some iPod Touches into Friezland Primary School in Oldham. This will eventually feed back into the work we are doing on Government's Home Access Pilot.
The class is a mix of year 3 and 4 pupils. Initially, they will be using the Touches for developing their Spanish. However the technology could be used elsewhere.
Our Aim is to encourage the pupils to assess the use of the devices and to see how they impact on learning. Initially we expect a bit of excitement as they will be a novelty, but hopefully that will subside.
We are also very open minded about the role of domestic hand held devices in the classroom/home for learning. This blog will be a bit raw n' rough at the edges, but hopefully it will track the process.
